And currently hooked up to an automotive IV.

Kinja'd!!!

Ive got an electrical leak somewhere. I’m guessing its the alarm/remote start as sitting for 2 weeks is apparently too long. Fun fact: when the battery is about to drain out completely the alarm goes off. Doubly fun fact: when that happens the transponder doesn’t have enough juice to accept the unlock and “turn off the alarm that’s going off at 1am”.

So it was on the tender all day, died imediately when unhooked. Battery tested at 5v. Pulled one of these maneuvers which I’m not sure is totally safe

The booster box wasn’t charged so let’s plug it in while it converts 120 pixies into 12 pixies.

Still won’t start BUT will run accessories on just battery alone (month old interstate).

So I was bored and decided to give her some eyeliner on her headlights and foggies

Your battery is defective.

If the battery went from “charged” to 5v instantly without large amounts of Fire coming out, it’s time for a new battery.

Do you know what it takes to swap the battery on an 06 Sebring ?

It went from charged to 5v over two weeks. It took an hour or two before the lights would turn on. Right now without anything hooked up it’s at 11v.

Multimeter will tell you very quickly the current draw on the battery with everything off.

Step 1: remove front tire...

No clue as far as access but then it’s two bolts a frequently a rubber hose that vents overboard. You’ll get charged extra for the battery “core” which will get refunded after you drop the dead battery off for disposal at AutoZone or whatever you shop. YouTube likely has a video for your exact car. It’s an easy job.

It’s funny, 5 years ago I played around with the idea of moving the battery to the trunk... Last year, I played around with moving the battery to the trunk... Weird.

Sorry, my sarcasm didn’t convey well. Buuuut

Jack the front wheel up, remove said wheel, remove the inner fender, remove battery retainer bracket, unhook the battery, pull out said battery without crushing your hand against the brake rotor (x2 experience wise), all while hunched over in the wheel well.

... swearing all the while, and loudly promising to dickkick the person responsible for designing it that way should you ever happen to find them.

Oh shit. I wrote all that out as I misread the other response about taking the front wheel off as a mean joke implying “who doesn’t know how to change a battery” so I was trying to be extra nice to make up for the jerk with the bad vibes

Holy shit you have to take the fucking tire off? Now I feel like both of you are fucking with *me* somehow. Jesus.

Lol. I was wondering why you were being such a troll for no reason. I have never, ever heard of having to take a tire off to change a battery. What a design!
